MIXED OPINIONS
Even WEEK tHURSDAYS 4 PM
A dive into the deep-cuts of alternative, funk and world genres every other Thursday. We’re talking the intersection where Greek music and Basshunter meet. Stay tuned each episode for our controversial takes on artists snubbed by music snobs in our ‘In Defence Of’ segment, in a bid to convince each other that they are redeemable and who knows, potentially catapult them into cultural relevancy as dictated by Pitchfork.
EPISODE 7
We kept our promise and we're back for episode 2. Expect Middle Eastern disco, gothic funk and house bangers from us this time. Featuring music by Habib Koité, Sofia Kourtesis and Bauhaus.
EPISODE 6
Mixed Opinions is back (again) after a 10 month hiatus (whoops). But what a 10 months it has been! Stay tuned for our musical renaissance as we navigate new genres and picks. With a special surprise at the end... . Featuring music by Latimore, Kelly Lee Owens and Psychic TV.
EPISODE 5
We're back and live from quarantine with a shiny, new rebrand. A flashback to our youth this time (for one of us anyway), as we record from our childhood bedrooms. Tune in for a dose of hip-hop, folk and Ethiopian Jazz.
EPISODE 4
The final episode of the season! What a journey it's been. Come relax and chill as we smoothly apply the brakes and glide to the end of this term with some folk, R&B and new wave. Our 'In Defence Of' this week may be taken as a personal attack by mums everywhere, whoops. Artists this episode include Nick Drake, The The and Big Thief.
EPISODE 3
Third time's the charm, I guess? A seemingly less chaotic episode this time, featuring some funk, punk and of COURSE some proverbial gazing of shoes. Stay tuned for some hot takes on the music industry this time and maybe a 'wizard' (not in reference to the mastery of Anton Newcombe)? And will I get over the need to box every song ever within a genre? More thrilling then the latest issue of 'Radio Times' guaranteed. Artists this episode include Black Country, New Road, Brian Jonestown Massacre and Ride.
EPISODE 2
We're back again for another episode of our current (eclectic) favourites. Expect as per usual a bit of shoegaze, folk and of course the all important 'Greek of the Week' segment! Our 'In Defence Of' segment this time is reminiscent of 63 plate Ford Focuses (complete with Jelly Belly air fresheners), 3/4 zip Regatta fleeces and jeans with dress shoes. That's right, it's THE dad band that is U2. Artists this episode include Sharon Van Etten, Confidence Man and Justine Never Knew The Rules.
EPISODE 1
The inaugural episode! Listen as we bumble our way around the hyper-awareness of our voices. Artists this episode include Joni Mitchell, Les Filles de Illighadad and Phoebe Bridgers.
